How to make compound butter or why I should have compound butter?
Compound butters are simple blendings of herbs, spices, alcohol and anything else you can think to blend with butter.
So first thing you need is about a stick of softened butter.
Here’s one of my favorites.
I add blue cheese, some coarse salt, some fresh chopped parsley, simple and also delicious on grilled steaks.
Blend the ingredients into the softened butter, gently and thoroughly.
There’s no need to overwork this.
Take some plastic wrap, put some pieces out in a log-ish.
This looks more like a Baby Ruth bar but you get the idea.
Roll it up, tied in the plastic wrap.
Pop it in refrigerator.
There’s another example, a secret weapon, if you will.
Take one of your favorite barbecue rub and mix that up with some soft butter, then mix and blend thoroughly, and try putting some of these on your barbecued meats.
Or another one, how about some poultry seasoning, add that with a little salt, even some pepper, mix that up really nice and put it on some grilled chicken.
Use your compound butter right away or put it in refrigerator for up to a week, or the freezer up to one month to be safe.
Hey, that’s it.
Thanks for watching.
