Easy Pro Tips to Cleaning Cast Iron Skillets.
So if you have a dirty skillet, well yeah, this is an over exemplification, but if you have a skillet that’s a little bit hard to clean, here’s a couple of easy tips that you might want to try.
First one is, get yourself a plastic scraper, this is actually a Bando knife, works really well, or you can get a real hard one that’s made specifically for scraping cast iron.
And just try that, get it in there, scraped around and a lot of times those bits will just come right out.
One of my favorites is coarse salt.
I’ll take coarse salt and a paper towel and I’ll just scrub away, this almost always works.
Camp Chef has a new product, that’s cast iron cleaner.
Just put a little bit of water in, a little bit of the cleaning solution and a stiff plastic brush and scrub away.
It’s citrus-based, so it does a really good job of breaking things down.
And the final version is, is the good old water and apple cider vinegar, need about 2 cups of water, about 1/2 a cup of apple cider vinegar or 4:1 ratio, fill up squirt bottle.
Look at the lawn that needs to be mowed, spread the solution on the built-up food particles.
Let it sit 5, 10, 15 minutes, then give it a good clean and let that solution go to work.
It’ll soften those bits up in no time.
