My first batch of Freezer corn
Fresh corn is going for pennies these days, 8 ears for $1.00, not a price you can pass up. I picked up 16 ears for the freezer and decided to give my Camp Chef Big Gas Grill try at boiling a large amount of water to blanch the corn before I cut it off the cob.
Worked like a charm! Brought the water to a fast boil with no effort.
Blanched the corn for 8 minutes
Quickly into a ice bath to stop the cooking process.
Easy to peel with a corn peeler.
Cut corn into a vacuum bag.
Not bad for my first ever batch of freezer corn! The Camp Chef Big Gas Grill worked like a charm and the whole process was so much easier that I thought it would be.
Something different – hope you enjoy!

My Oxo corn peeler has een getting a workout lately too. There’s nothing like enjoying some fresh frozen corn during the fall and winter.
I was inspired by you my friend!!
Gary, I just did the same thing–pulled all the remaining corn off the stalks (I’ve been grilling it on my grill for the past 6 weeks), cooked it outside on my sideburner, then cut it off with my electric knife, bagged it and put in in my freezer. I’ve been enjoying it ever since. Not sure there is anything as tasty as corn from my garden.
