How to Grill Baby Back Ribs in 1 hour

Can Baby Back Ribs be grilled in one hour?

Yes, and I will show you how easy it is to do!

Keeping all of the flavor and using far less time than a traditional 6 hour BBQ cook, you can achieve fantastic results using great rubs and sauces from McCormick.com

How to Grill Baby Back Ribs in 1-hour notes:

  • This method is designed primarily for charcoal grills but I do believe it can work successfully on a gas grill as well.
  • It is important that you flip you Baby Back ribs every 15 minutes or so during the grilling process.
  • Use a good rub and sauce to boost your flavor profile.
  • Use a few wood chips to add smoke flavor to the Baby Back Ribs – Cherry, Apple, Peach and Pecan would be a nice touch.
  • St. Louis Style Ribs and full racks of ribs will take longer due to their mass.
  • Cut the rack of Baby Back ribs in half for easier handling.

Presenter: Hey, everyone.

As a McCormick partner I’m going to show you how to make grilled baby back ribs in 1 hour with all the barbecue flavor you could possibly want for your next tailgate party.
To set up the grill for our ribs we need a multi-zone heat source that will allow us to do indirect cooking.
To create multi-zone heating take the preheated coals and spread them to the side, leaving a few coals on the bottom.
This allows even heat distribution around the ribs and under the ribs to sear them, giving a crispy outside with the moist inside like you would get on a traditional 5 or 6-hour cook.
Now cover and preheat the grill to 350 degrees.
Apply a rub packed with flavor.
We’re going to be using McCormick Grill Mates Slow and Low Memphis Pit BBQ Rub.
Apply this liberally to all sides of your ribs.
With our grill hovering at about 350 degrees, let’s add our ribs to a grill.
Once you placed the ribs on the grill, you’ll want to flip your ribs every 15 minutes for 1 hour.
As you flip them you’ll notice pullback on the ribs, which is when the meat pulls away from the bone.
At the 45-minute mark or the third flip is when you’ll want to start saucing your ribs.
What I’m using is McCormick’s homemade Sriracha BBQ Sauce.
Some wonderful smokiness, fantastic, sweet flavor with the heat.
I’m going to sauce these three more times at 5-minute intervals.
Our ribs are ready in exactly 1 hour.
