Performing an annual gas leak test on your propane or natural gas grill is absolutely critical.
Just a couple of quick steps and you’ll be safe in no time.
This is your supply line which connects your propane tank or your natural gas valve to your manifold.
Cobwebs, of course, are optional.
And the manifold connects the valves to the burners.
The first thing you want to do is make sure your supply line is supple and not hard dry and brittle.
Now attach your regulator to your propane tank or your natural gas fitting following manufacturer instructions.
Now get yourself a small bottle.
You can buy these at just about any drugstore, fill it about 3/4 full of water and add a couple drops of dish soap.
Doesn’t take much.
Turn your gas valve on approximately 1/4 turn, then spray the connection, the valve, the regulator and the hose where it connects to the regulator with the soapy water.
If no bubbles our created, then you’re safe.
Spray the connection to the manifold, then spray the valves connected to the manifold.
Did I mention cobwebs are optional?
If your grill is more than a couple of years old, then I highly recommend spring the hoses to check for leaks also.
If at anytime during the test you find a leak, STOP!
Turn off the gas and replace the part before using your grill.
Hey, that’s it.
Thanks for watching.
