“Our grill is so nice, it stays in the house, and we stay in the garage”
Well, I am pretty certain that won't be happening at the Cooking Outdoors house, this year or any year. Not that I don't love my grills, all 15 or so of them, but they stay in the backyard or my garage. Yep, at least 15 grills of various sizes and dimensions – Weber E310, 2 Bull BBQ's, Char Grills offset smoker, Charbroil SRG Big Easy, The Beast Grill, Weber Performer, 2 22 1/2″ Weber Kettles, 2 CharBroil gas grills, Camp Chef Smoke Vault, plus a myriad of Camp Chef outdoor cooking items and then there are my 20 plus Dutch ovens (a small number to be certain). I know I am forgetting something …
Life wise, I just finished my mid-terms for Culinary school. I know I haven't shared that much about it but I will soon!
Wednesday & Thursday I shot three videos –
1 for Camp Chef using their new Gourmet Turkey Cannon Brine Kit. The Turkey was amazing!
1 for McCormick. Shooting my third commercial for them. 1 hr grilled ribs with homemade Sriracha BBQ sauce … just spectacular!
1 making the homemade Sriracha BBQ sauce … not sure this one will be released though. Not to happy with the way it went.
One final note, is that I had the great pleasure to cook with Colleen Sloan today at the local Crescent Supply store. She came all of the way down from Utah to teach a Dutch oven cooking class and she invited me to teach along with her, very flattering indeed! She cooked up some wonderful stuffed pumpkin, stuffed spaghetti squash along side of some apple dump cake and bacon-n-cheese biscuits. Close to 50 people attended the standing room only crowd and there were plenty of questions about Dutch oven cooking to be answered today. Everyone left full and happy, with a good number of people stopping in the store to stock up with some greatly discounted Dutch oven cooking supplies.
Next week I hope to start working in the new garden area even though it rained today, I am sure I can get all of that ground cover up and the area measured off for raised beds, chicken coop and a compost pile.
Speaking of compost piles – do you prefer a two bin or a three bin system? What are the pros and cons?
Talk to you soon!
